Welcome!
Pandora's Daughter

One World, Many Voices

One World, Many VoicesAn interactive puppetry and storytelling project for children aged 7 – 14, on the Rights of the child (with a strong global perspective).

A despotic puppet dictator has taken over the land, determined to ‘abolish childhood’, along with all children’s rights.

The children in the audience must make puppet children from around the world, and use their voices to plead for peace, education, health care, justice and freedom. Will the Dictator back down? Will the story have a dramatic ending?

It’s up to the children!

We use puppetry and storytelling, poetry and song:

  • To teach children about the U.N. Charter for the Rights of the Child.
  • To help children to empathise in a vivid and personal way with children across the world and understand the issues.
  • To explore the responsibilities of children within the family, school and community, as future citizens of the WORLD.

“Pandora’s Daughter’ provided us with splendid ideas, and led us through a process of making puppets and devising stories with warmth, skill and immense generosity of spirit …. An inspired choice. Year Seven were thrilled with the project, and we are still basking in the pleasure of having created something of beauty. …. I was fascinated by watching Mary work, and learnt a great deal.”(Teacher, Mount School, York)
