The Puppetree
For 4-11 year-olds.
This is a workshop day for one class leading to a performance. In effect it is a visual and dramatic debate for beginners, even as young as four. It can be done as a simple project on ‘minibeasts’.
Each child makes a puppet character, as part of the overall story about whether developers will cut down the tree. They will be invited to speak out as that character, when they come up to the Puppetree in the performance. This can be done twice in one day with small groups (i.e. Nurseries, or in libraries).
