This consists of a series of workshops, leading to a performance by Mary, and a large number of children, based on her book of the same title, (published by Barefoot Books, www.barefootbooks.com) on the theme of the weather.

Each child makes a puppet weather character, learns to use percussion and weave coloured silks into a huge patchwork rainbow, to help make one big participatory creation story about how the rainbow was created.

However, Mary often performs “The Winter King and the Summer Queen” in libraries and at book events, without puppet making workshops first.
